Henschool in the news

September 2009

November 2008

November 2008 - Henschool goes national!
Lesley hit the news on TV and Radio when she asked the ladies from a local residential home to knit jumpers for rescued battery chickens!

Lesley asked the local residential home if they would knit some jumpers for the battery hens when they come out of the farms sometimes a bit bare, to keep them warm. They fell in love with one of Lesley's re-homed battery hens and have called her Uvie, after Uvedale Hall the name of the residential home who have now adopted the hen!

The story was covered by the EADT as well as local and national news. Click on the links below to watch the news coverage: -

Please do not leave your hens on their own wearing the jumpers as they may get their legs caught in the wool causing them to have an accident!
